Welcome to Taste of China, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Houston at 9888 Bellaire Blvd Ste168. This restaurant offers a journey through the rich tapestry of Chinese cuisine, where tradition meets modern flair. Upon entering, you’re greeted by an inviting ambiance that strikes a perfect balance between comfort and elegance, making it an ideal spot for both families and couples alike.
At Taste of China, every dish tells a story, from the exquisite Quinoa Ginseng In Golden Soup ($28) that warms the heart to the sumptuous Sashimi Platter ($128) that showcases the finest flavors of the sea. The highlight of the menu, the Braised Lamb In Casserole ($45), is a testament to the meticulous preparation and attention to detail that goes into each offering. Customers rave about the Sautéed Prawns In Oil ($15) and the Spicy Beef Tendon ($15), with many noting the freshness and generous portions.
Customer feedback paints a vivid picture of the Taste of China experience. The consensus highlights not only the delectable food but also the attentive service that enhances the dining experience. A popular review from Albert G. highlights the freshness of the ingredients, stating, "Everything was so fresh and filling," while also applauding the affordability given current economic conditions. Despite a modest menu size, guests appreciate the straightforward selection that avoids overwhelming them.
However, it’s important to note that some customers, like QueenSof, have pointed out the slightly higher price points, although they argue the quality often justifies the cost. The rich flavors resonate well with diners, especially dishes like the flavorful lamb toothpicks and the elusive soup dumplings, which, though not always on the menu, have received glowing commendations for their taste.
The restaurant does encourage reservations for specialty dishes, ensuring a place for culinary delights like the unique Elephant Nose Mussels In Soup ($128). And if you’re up for trying something new, be curious about the Drunken Chicken In Ancient Style ($14) or the crispy duck, a dish that has found favor amongst returning customers.
In essence, Taste of China encapsulates the spirit of dining well with a focus on quality, service, and comfort. Each meal serves not only as sustenance but also as a celebration of culture, making it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Chinese cuisine. Whether it's a family gathering or a quiet dinner for two, this restaurant promises a delightful culinary experience that is certainly worth savoring.

What a hidden gem! Everything was so fresh and filling and the server was very attentive! Given the supply chain issues/inflation happening in the US right now, the prices and portions were amazing! The ambiance is great too. I highly recommend! The menu isn’t too big so it’s not overwhelming either.

As other reviews have mentioned, the price is steep. However, the food is quite good and the portions are fair. The lamb toothpicks were very flavorful, and the soup dumplings were amazing. Everything was delicious, though I lament the lack of a dessert on their menu.

First time with 4 adults and 2 kids. Ordered 2 XLB, a fish soup, 3 entrees, and an appetizer. Plenty of leftovers and everyone was stuffed. Clean and spacious. Family friendly. Will come back.

This is a place for you if want comfort, nice deco, great service and decent food. However, the prices are a bit higher. I saw the window poster of soup dumplings, but surprisingly wasn't on the menu. The server said it is available and actually quite good.
